This is our second year vacationing in Kiawah Island. We return because there are many things we love…
The calm, warm waters
The beautiful flora and fauna
And the friends
Kiawah Resort is a quiet, family friendly community. This year we took advantage of some of the activities they host including the Mingo Point Oyster BBQ. They had a delicious traditional barbecue buffet, crafts and activities for the kids, live music and shuck-your-own roasted oysters!
They also hosted a Sundown Festival with a rock climbing wall (Anthony made us proud!), moon bounces, train rides and other games. The photo booth was my favorite!
We explored some of the nearby islands. Bowens Island Restaurant sits at the tip of a 13-acre island offering terrific views of the water and marshlands, as well as delicious seafood.
Morris Island Lighthouse stands alone approximately 300 yards off shore from the island of Folly Beach. The Morris Island Lighthouse is now completely surrounded by water but once sat on Morris Island with numerous buildings surrounding it. The lighthouse was completed in 1876 and decommissioned in 1962.
The days passed all too quickly building sand castles, playing in the water, playing beach games…
Boogie boarding and body surfing…
Bicycling and crafts…
and of course, cheers!
But the best part of any family vacation is family.

Until next year!
