Children’s Museum of the Arts is a nonprofit arts facility that brings hands-on art programming to children. Located in the Hudson Square neighborhood of Manhattan, the space is entirely dedicated to hands-on art activities ranging from clay to painting, sound to computer graphics. This jewel box of a space was our playground for a cold Thursday afternoon.

At the Clay Bar kids can create anything they can imagine with the assistance of a teaching artist. Lucas created a maniacal rabbit, Penny a pondering panda and Oliver a sea creature-ish, dragon-like snake.IMG_1759 IMG_1762

IMG_1790An ongoing project was a Washington Square mega collage. Children could work on a square that represented part of the Washington Square arch using various materials. Once all squares are completed the collage will be assembled and displayed.
