In 2018 Lucas competed for the first time at DanceMakers.

In 2019 he won his first scholarship from DanceMakers. The Courage Scholarship recognizes potential and work ethic and encourages the dancer to keep going.
And in 2025 he is at his last DanceMakers in Bethesda, MD as a Season XI Collective member.

DanceMakers Bethesda is our team competition event where all our dancers take classes and compete. DanceMakers not only holds a special spot for Lucas but for our studio, all our dancers thriving in the supportive, challenging and inspiring environment. Coming to DanceMakers is always a highlight of the season and this year especially so with Lucas assisting as Collective.
Bethesda is the one city where Lucas can compete his solo. Performing to Slack Jaw was significant as this song was the song he danced to the first time he was called out in a contemporary class, Erica Sobol’s class. A full circle moment, he was able to perform his solo with Erica as one of the judges.

For the past 8 years Lucas has attended DanceMakers. He went from being the kid in the back, to getting noticed by Dejan Tubic, then Erica Sobol, to getting called up on stage, to assisting to getting Collective and to this wonderful weekend of sharing this journey with his dance family. He assisted in classes where Penny and Oliver were taking classes, watching him and learning from him and he danced with his current team members, former team members and coach. This last run through was simply fun, Lucas dancing Dejan’s combo with his CDC family on stage dancing with him.
No One Knows Me placed 1st Overall Senior Line, Style High Score, and received a Dance Again, performing again in the closing show.
DanceMakers has inspired and nurtured Lucas’ belief in himself as a dancer. This year as a Season XI Collective member has solidified his dream to pursue dance giving him confidence and belief in his abilities, reinforcing the importance of his strengths in character and humor and gifting him with an incredible, supportive community and friendships that will be lifelong.
