Our oldest, the big brother, ushered in a newfound independence and brought us a whole new community when he started at Floris Elementary School in 2012 in Mrs. Clifford’s class.



Thirteen years later he returns with his classmates on the eve of their high school graduation to walk the halls as seniors. Only his kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Clifford remains, and his 6th grade teacher Mrs. Potter drove up from Richmond to be here for the day. Seeing the wonder in the kindergarteners eyes and the nostalgia in the seniors eyes, from leaving your house for the day to go to school to leaving your house for months to go to college, from dreams to possibilities, a lot changes in thirteen years.

Mrs. Clifford continued as our children’s kindergarten teacher having both Penny and Oliver and has become a dear friend and a constant source of support and love in their lives.
