Some like to think of life as full of mystery, surprises, the unexpected. While life will occasionally toss you a surprise or two; a pregnancy, a cross-country move, a divorce, a death you will find an incredible ability to absorb and adapt.

Life is a repeating pattern; a beautiful, predictable, rhythmic pattern. We hit bumps, we get sidelined but we eventually fall back into our pattern. Change may be as simple as a new neighborhood, a new season, a new job, a new child, we will absorb and adapt.

In this rhythmic flow each event, each surprise, increases our ability and our wisdom. We are evolving, we are becoming the best version of ourselves. By the time we die we won’t be compared to our one year old self that was just learning to walk, we will be compared against a lifetime lived, experienced and learned. We will be measured against our own rhythm.

In the book I am reading, the best version of ourselves is our soul. It’s what outlasts the changes, the surprises and the twists and turns that come in life. It holds in the wisdom, the strength and the love we have accumulated. This post resonated! Loved your thought provoking words and your images.
