Started in 1992 due to a surplus of wreaths and a man’s desire to honor our country’s veterans, as of 2022 Wreaths Across America has grown to over 2.7 million wreaths in 3,702 locations. Their mission extends beyond the profound action of one day; it is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and teach the next generation the value of freedom, all year long. “To be killed in war is not the worst that can happen. To be lost is not the worst that can happen… to be forgotten is the worst.”
— Pierre Claeyssens (1909-2003)
