Creative Dance Center’s Leadership program provides opportunities for students to lead from assisting teachers in classes, supporting the Baby Ballerina program and leading fundraisers. Lucas has participated for the past few years and regularly assists classes every week. Recently he was asked to step up and fill in for a teacher to teach a Hip Hop Class, Penny’s Hip Hop class. The choreography was challenging but Penny got it and the entire class was thrilled to have Lucas, a friend and teammate, teach the class.

This is Creative Dance Center’s inaugural year of offering the Mentorship Program; an invitation only program for students that are considering pursuing dance professionally. It is led by Brian Raymond volunteering his time and at times money to provide an environment for the students to gain more exposure to the aspects of professional dance. Each week he has a student choreograph a piece that they have to teach, simulating what they experience at conventions from professional choreographers. Lucas recently taught a Hip Hop combo. While I always love seeing Lucas’ choreography I especially love seeing the chemistry between him and his fellow dancers.
