“anxious, tired, excited”

It is easy to remember the first time you tried your favorite restaurant, your 21st birthday, your child’s first step, a first day of school. It is easy to remember how we felt when our first child was born, when we first fell in love, when we’ve been stricken by grief. What is not easy to remember are all the moments in between that create our days, strung together creating our life. For every spectacular moment there are about one hundred regular moments. These are the moments that fill our days, that mark the passing of time, that are just as critical in shaping and defining who we are.

“Being happy isn’t having everything in your life be perfect. Maybe it’s about stringing together all the little things.”

IMG_3411In our children we see each day written on a new milestone, a new boo boo, a new word, a new song, a new expression, a new emotion. We marvel at how much they’ve changed in a week, a month, a year and we long to remember, to go back.
